SCHWABHOF IN KLEINARL
Warm-hearted and almost cheesily beautiful
If a film and photo team were looking for a location for a picture book farm in the mountains, the Schwabhof would be the first choice on the casting list. The well-kept ensemble, consisting of farmhouse, stable building with playpen and barn, two pretty outbuildings, grain shed, furnace, etc. lies slightly elevated on an eastern slope, above the Kleinarl valley floor. A typical Pongauer Streuhof with a courtyard and a well. The village is close, approx. 1 km, it is easy to walk or cycle to the Jägersee and Talschluss.
Dairy farmer with a mixture of livestock
The Schwabhof is the largest dairy farmer in the Kleinarl Valley. Rupert Viehhauser delivers his organic milk for the dairy workshop. He was one of the founders of "Bio aus dem Tal", is its largest supplier and one of the most important partners of this cooperative. Schwabhof also supplies beef and pork, as fresh meat, and for the production of cold meats. Horses and ponies trot across the meadow. Chickens and ducks cavort at the farm and curious goats grumble over the fence. Rabbits and cats are not to be missed either, of course. The boundaries between livestock and pets are floating.
4 flowers organic farm
While in the hotel business stars are used, 4 flowers are used as the currency for holidays on the farm. This highest category adorns the Schwabhof and this is more than deserved. …. Guests are welcome in summer and winter. The ski bus stops 100 m from the farm. We offer friendly rooms and apartments, as well as chalets. The rich organic breakfast at Schwabhof with many homemade and regional products is a real insider tip.
The 3-generation host family Viehhauser – Conny and Rupert with the 4 children Hannes, David, Josef and Martina and grandma Barbara and grandpa Hans – is happy to welcome guest families who spend time with them at the organic farm. David and his siblings like to share the variety of animals and their many toys.
